Ozomatli - Austin Winter Nights

Someone once said, when you turn the world upside down and shake it, everything that doesn't settle somewhere finds its home in Los Angeles. This is certainly the case for the boys from Ozomatli, who's tunes capture the east LA sound and then some.

Funky groves, MC's, crazy DJ's, a horn section, classical guitar, crazy dancing vatos, and various percussions make the band one of the best of the genre, if you can actually define it.

My AMF counterpart Brittani was kind enough to let me watch the entire show, as she 'womaned' our non-profit booth through the course of the show. Much better than our co-non-profit Sims group, who shot the event a ghost for representation and a 'tip jar' for lack of a better word.

No congo line this time, apparently the congo line done by Ozo at the end of shows, as they go out in the crowd and play amongst the people, is quite controversial and every authoritative figure hates it! haha
